1. Who we are
GISSMI, operated by Gowtham Subramanian (“GISSMI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides an iOS application that helps people understand recurring subscription charges and optional usage signals. GISSMI is currently an unincorporated business.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive identifiers needed to authenticate your account and, depending on your choices and provider settings, your name and email address. We also process session information, notification preferences, and push-notification tokens.
Installation and product analytics
GISSMI creates a random installation identifier that is not an advertising identifier or hardware fingerprint. We use it with app version, operating-system version, launch activity, and sign-in state to measure installations, activation, reliability, and version adoption. It becomes linked to your account after sign-in and is deleted with your account.
Financial information
If you connect an account through Plaid, we receive account metadata, balances, transactions, merchant information, and recurring-payment signals from eligible financial institutions. GISSMI does not receive or store your bank username or password. Plaid handles the connection flow.
Subscription and usage information
We process subscriptions, renewal dates, prices, usage goals, manual confirmations, and subscription-linked usage totals. If you enable Screen Time tracking, Apple protects the identity of selected apps and GISSMI receives only the usage information needed for the subscription you chose to track—not your complete Screen Time history.
Optional location-derived information
If you choose venue-based tracking, your device can detect visits to places you select. GISSMI receives visit events associated with the subscription. Precise venue coordinates remain on your device and are not uploaded to GISSMI.
Purchases and diagnostics
We receive subscription-entitlement and purchase-status information from RevenueCat and Apple. We use Sentry to process crash and error diagnostics without intentionally attaching your account identity. We may also process operational logs, request identifiers, app version, device type, and error information needed to secure and improve the service.
3. How we use information
- Provide authentication, subscription discovery, usage insights, reminders, and account support.
- Calculate user-requested usage scores and renewal context.
- Send service emails and push notifications you enable.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliability.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
GISSMI does not sell personal information, serve behavioral advertising, or use financial, Screen Time, or location-derived data for advertising.
4. Service providers
We use providers that process information on our behalf, including Apple and Google for sign-in, Plaid for financial-account connectivity, RevenueCat and Apple for purchase status, Resend for transactional email, Sentry for crash and error diagnostics, and infrastructure providers for application hosting, databases, security, and delivery. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
5. Data security
We use encrypted network connections, access controls, limited production access, and encryption for sensitive stored credentials. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account, financial, subscription, and usage information while your account is active. Installation analytics may be retained for up to 24 months after the installation was last active. Operational and provider-delivery records are generally retained for up to 90 days, except when a longer period is necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or law.
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account. We first revoke active financial-account and supported sign-in-provider access, then remove the account and linked application data from active systems and request deletion from supported processors such as RevenueCat. Deleting GISSMI does not cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions remain manageable through Apple. Encrypted backups and records that must be retained for legal or security reasons are isolated from ordinary use and expire under applicable backup or retention schedules.
7. Your choices and rights
You can choose whether to connect a bank, enable notifications, authorize Screen Time, or enable venue tracking. You can disconnect accounts, change tracking methods, revoke device permissions, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information by contacting us.
8. Children
GISSMI is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. U.S. processing and changes
GISSMI is currently intended for users in the United States. Information may be processed wherever our service providers operate. We may update this policy as the product or law changes. Material updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.
